SeeThru
A tiny Windows utility (about 68 KB, no installer) that makes any window see-through, from fully solid down to 5% opacity.
Using it
Run SeeThru.exe. It lives in the system tray.
- Mouse: hold Ctrl+Shift and scroll over any window. Scroll down for more see-through, up for more solid, 5% per notch. A small pop-up shows the current level.
- Ctrl+Alt+Page Down: more see-through (active window)
- Ctrl+Alt+Page Up: more solid (active window)
- Ctrl+Alt+Home: back to fully solid (active window)
- Ctrl+Alt+End: ghost mode on or off. The window stays on top of everything and clicks pass straight through it to whatever is underneath. To turn it off, click the window's taskbar button so it becomes active, then press Ctrl+Alt+End again.
The tray menu lists every window that has been changed so each one can be reset, plus "Reset all windows", "Start with Windows" and a help screen. Exiting SeeThru puts every window back to normal.
Notes
- Windows from programs running as administrator can only be changed if SeeThru also runs as administrator.
- The exe is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may warn the first time. Choose "More info" and then "Run anyway."
Building
Plain Win32 C, no dependencies beyond the standard Windows DLLs.

Requires MinGW-w64 (x86_64-w64-mingw32-gcc and windres).
