The search list survives a restart, but a restored query was only ever a
reminder: seeing what the network has now meant typing it out again. In
the Searches pane, `S` now re-runs the highlighted query in its place — no
duplicate row, no reordering — cancelling a run still collecting first and
starting the Results display over for what comes back.
The key is listed in the shortcut bar, the `?` overlay, the README and the
website. `start_search` is split into launching a search and showing it,
so both paths share one implementation.
A new `tui_e2e` suite drives the real window over a real session against
soulfind: keys in, a screen out, a sharing peer on the other end. It
restores a query from a previous run's state directory, presses `S`, and
checks the peer's file lands on screen — then again once the query has
been on the wire, proving a repeat is answered and the display does not
stack. To make that possible `MainTui` is exported with `handle_key_event`,
`render`, `poll_session` and a `state()` accessor, and CI runs the suite
with `SOULSEEK_E2E_REQUIRED=1`.
Closes#85
SOULSEEK_E2E_MODE=daemon makes the existing e2e harness serve every session
from a daemon instead of the command's own login, so the same 83 tests assert
the same records and exit codes both ways. CI runs the suite twice.
Two defects it found:
serve judged whether anything was shared from this run's configuration
rather than from the session, so routed to a daemon it would start with
nothing to serve and report success.
The TUI showed an empty conversation when attached, because the daemon's
message history was never asked for. It is now a SessionApi method, empty
locally, which puts the difference behind the seam.
main.rs is now a thin entry point over the library rather than a second copy
of every module, so the program compiles once instead of twice.
Session::open attaches to a daemon when one is reachable and logs in
otherwise, so every existing command works unchanged against either. A local
socket is found automatically, which is what makes an agent's invocation need
no flags at all; --no-daemon opts out.
Commands now read identity, shares, server, and download directory from the
session rather than from this run's config: routed to a daemon those differ,
and the session is the one actually on the network. Without that, whoami
named the wrong server and shares reindex would have imposed the client
machine's folders on the daemon.
The daemon drains the library's destructive take_* accessors once and fans
events out per connection, which is what lets more than one client share a
session. A Unix socket at 0600 is the local transport and its permissions
are the authentication; TCP is opt-in and needs the generated token. Rooms,
transfers, and the conversation are daemon-owned and restored on restart.
Methods and events are enums built by one macro, so every consumer matches
exhaustively: adding a member is a compile error until the dispatcher, the
published schema, and the remote client all handle it. docs/openrpc.json is
derived from the DTOs rather than hand-written, and a test fails the build
when the checked-in copy drifts.
Commands and the TUI now hold an Arc<dyn SessionApi> instead of an
Arc<Client>. The trait is implemented on Client itself, so the local path
is the same client behind one vtable and no wrapper type exists to keep in
sync. Daemon mode plugs a remote implementation into the same handle.
Adds a lib target (soulseek_rs_tui) exposing cli/models/persist so
integration tests can drive the persistence pipeline: state and config
survive a simulated restart through the real files, with the incomplete
download flagged for auto-resume. The lib e2e suite gains a
register-then-relogin test against soulfind proving the stored-credential
flow's server assumptions. cargo clippy --all-targets and cargo fmt are
clean.
